Miller Construction to Break Ground on Spec Warehouse in Ocala
Open design, easy access to local airport provide solution to logistics issues
Miller Construction Company, a statewide, privately-held construction firm, will commence construction in early June on a speculative warehouse at Airport Logistics Park in Ocala for Boyd+Mox Industrial Development. The 100,090-square-foot space is currently designed as a single, open shell.
Based in Ocala FL, Boyd+Mox Industrial Development is a privately owned company whose principals have managed, developed and constructed over 10 million square feet of projects throughout the Southeast.
The tilt-wall structure will offer tenants quick access to Ocala International Airport, making it ideal for companies engaged in distribution, logistics and e-commerce. The single-story building is scheduled for completion by the end of 2022.
“With so many companies facing distribution challenges, we see a strong demand for space at the Ocala airport,” said Brian Sudduth, President of Miller Construction. “With our short construction time, a tenant or tenants could be in the warehouse in as little as six months.”
The building will have spacious 32-foot, clear-height ceilings, 54-foot by 50-foot spacing and feature a 60-foot speed bay. The open design allows for multiple layout options and extensive customization.
Miller will build next to a similar warehouse now under construction. The company will section off its work zone for safety, clarity and quality. This is the third building in the park, completing the first phase. Airport Logistics Park totals 725,000 square feet of Class A Industrial Product.
The project team includes Horton, Harley & Carter Inc. (architect), Colwill Engineering (MEP), Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (structural) and Kimley-Horn (civil).
