Lehrman Day School

Lehrman Day School’s first phase consists of renovation of the existing school cafeteria, kitchen, and egress paths in preparation for the new 3-story expansion. It involved early coordination and planning to accomplish the work during the summer break for the school. While the school was vacant, we also performed a series of proactive investigations of the existing structure/building to assist the design team with completing their design/integration of the second phase of new construction.

During the second phase, Miller will construct an additional multipurpose wing to the existing building, mainly consisting of a gym, classrooms, common areas and multi-purpose rooms. The existing school will remain in full operation during the construction of the school addition, so Miller has implemented its multi-phased safety policy focused on the safety of the students, staff, and operations of the school, the children’s continued education with as minimal disruption as possible along with accommodations of the parents and local residents.
