With South Florida’s demand for capital expenditure projects and tenant improvements on the rise, Miller Construction Company is expanding its Special Projects Group, which focuses on projects valued at under $2 million.

As one of the region’s leading design/build and construction services firms, Miller has major new construction work underway. In 2014, the firm decided to form a Special Projects Group in response to clients’ need for a quality resource to streamline smaller projects, according to VP Business Development Traci Miller. That strategy is already proving on target, with more than $2 million in Special Projects Group retail, automotive and healthcare sector work under contract in 2015, Miller said.

The work ranges from projects at multiple facilities for Broward Health, to an addition for Hyundai Mobis in unincorporated Miami Dade and complete interior renovations for Valentino’s restaurant’s new One Door East lounge in Fort Lauderdale. Clients have a single point of contact, from estimating and budgeting through final walkthrough, and tap the advantages of Miller’s self-performing capabilities and proven subcontractor relationships.

As Miller Construction Company’s Special Projects Group expands its tri-county operations, William Mason has joined the firm as superintendent, bringing 25 years of industry experience. “Bill’s quality approach and understanding of clients’ and their customers’ needs at operational sites make him a great addition to our team,” said Ernesto Escobar, director of special projects.

Before joining Miller Construction Company, Mason was a superintendent with Ron Kendall Masonry of West Palm Beach. A Delray Beach resident, he has worked extensively as a superintendent in commercial and residential construction. He attended Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven, Conn.
