TMB8 Traditional Non-sort Facility

Miller’s preconstruction and operations teams worked intensively with subcontractors to precisely estimate and schedule construction of one of Amazon’s largest Florida distribution centers, ensuring timely turnover of each area of a building spanning 22+ acres under roof. With that massive footprint, plus 30 acres dedicated to car and truck parking, the team installed StormTech subsurface chambers under the parking lot to manage storm water runoff and retention.

Deploying hundreds of workers on site throughout the build, Miller created the tilt-wall structure’s high-efficiency ground-floor warehouse space for optimal use throughout, plus a 250,028-sf mezzanine and 36,214 sf of office space. The facility is air conditioned and will have fully-automated conveyor systems throughout. The finished project incorporates 48,000 cubic yards of concrete, 6,000 tons of structural steel beams, columns and joists and over 1000 parking spaces.

Amenities range from multiple training rooms, employee break areas and restrooms, to a truckers’ lounge, medical facility, recruiting facility, new mothers’ rooms, a multi-faith room, plus a large locker area. Among green features are electric vehicle charging stations, hydrogen charging stations for warehouse equipment, and a solar provision cabinet to accommodate future solar panels.
